We feel very lucky to have Digby as part of our school community. Digby joined us in 2017 having completed his puppy training to an advanced level. Digby absolutely adores being at school, spending time with the children and meeting families. He is often greeting everyone in the mornings and saying farewell in the afternoons around the school grounds. He is always kept on a lead when the children are in school.
Digby has proven to support pupils' (and staff's) wellbeing, educated children in how to care for an animal, supported children to grow in confidence around dogs and reinforced positive and respectful behaviour.
We are mindful that some of our pupils may be anxious around dogs or may even have allergies, and so we are very careful to ensure we gather this information and ensure we manage any contact with Digby accordingly. There is a copy of our risk assessment and an example of the permission forms any child joining our school must complete.
We do hope that if you join our school or simply come for a visit that you get to meet our lovely Digby and enjoy his company as much as we do!
