Term 5

This term our topic is 'Art Attack'. We are really looking forward to learning about a range of artists including Jackson Pollock, Georges Seurat, Claude Monet, Kandinsky, Van Gogh, Andy Warhol and Andy Goldsworthy. We will be learning about different painting techniques and sculpture. We will also be creating our own versions of their work!  Our role play area is now an Art Studio and will have a different art challenge each week. We can't wait to see all the masterpieces  created by Kingfishers!

Can you find out about paintings created by Georges Seurat? Try to create your own picture using felt tips and pointillism.

For the first two weeks we will be focusing on the story 'The Day the Crayons Quit' by Drew Daywalt. We will be writing letters and focusing on persuasive writing. We will also be writing a newspaper report. In Week 3 we will be writing Spring  poems.  In the last two weeks we will be focusing on 'Harold and the Purple Crayon'. We will be creating a new character and new setting for our own versions of the story.

We will be focusing on fractions, addition and subtraction to solve problems and also on statistics.

We will be focusing on 'plants'.
