Term 5

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Picture 1

Over the Easter holidays you couldn't have helped but notice the beautiful plants growing all around us. The pink blossom on the trees and the purple dancing bluebells. You may have spotted lots of wildlife and insects arriving in your gardens, such as butterflies and ladybirds. This term we will be finding out about all of the plants that grow around us, including the large Oaks trees we have here at school.

What do plants need to grow and what are the best conditions?

What would happen if there were no plants in the world?

Can you identify different species of trees and flowers, as well as naming the  different parts and functions?

What is the life cycle of a plant and other living things?

We will be thinking about the plants we eat and drink. Which of these fruite and vegetables can you name? Which have you tried? How do they grow? Which part do you eat?

We would love to see and hear all about any growing you have been doing at home. As always, it would be fantastic to see any photos of your learning at home on Tapestry to share with the rest of your classmates!
