Happy New Year!
This term our topic is 'Journeys'. We are looking forward to learning about different explorers. We will be learning about journeys on land, at sea, in the air and in space. We have already enjoyed using the wonderful rocket role play area in our classroom. Well done for all the research you have done about explorers over the holidays. We have really enjoyed reading your amazing 'Home Learning' books!
In English we will be writing fantasy adventure stories, a biography and creating 'Wanted' posters.
In Maths we will be focusing on numbers and place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and problem solving.
In topic we will be learning about Neil Armstrong and Christopher Columbus. We will also be learning about the pirates Blackbeard and Anne Bonney. We will be making maps and following them using simple compass directions. In the last week of term we will be visiting King George's Playing Fields. If you are able to help, please let us know.
In Science we are learning about seasonal changes and about living things and their habitats.
