This term our topic is 'Fire Fire'. We will be learning about 'The Great Fire of London' and the creation of the Fire Service.
In English we will be writing firework poems, our own version of the story 'Toby and the Great Fire of London', character profiles and diary entries. We will also be writing instructions and a newspaper report. We will be focusing on different sentence types including statement sentences, questions , commands and exclamation sentences. We will be using descriptive vocabulary and learning how to use commas and apostrophes.
In Maths we will be focusing on measuring in centimetres and metres. We will also be learning about multiplication, division, fractions, time and shape.
In Science we will be learning about materials and their properties. We will be thinking about natural and man-made materials.
Parents in Class
The next 'Parents in Class' is on Monday 7th November from 2.30pm - 3.00pm. We will be focusing on how to use empty number lines for addition and subtraction. This will follow the Maths Workshop which will be from 1.30-2.30pm in the hall.
