JOE's BOW's Birds of Prey Visit
Joe and Gemma brought their Bird of Prey to come and visit Woodpecker class. We met twin Barn Owls, a Tawny Owl, a Harris Hawk and an Eagle. We found out lots of information about their habitats and the food they prey on, which will help us with our Topic learning. The best bit was being able to stroke the birds and watching Mrs Darling pretending to be a rabbit as she ran away from a hungry Lincoln the Eagle!
Fantastic Farm Visit
A big thank you to Westland's Secondary School farm who came to show us some of their animals this week. We are learning about different types of animals this week, and have been writing lots about our book 'The Cow that laid an Egg' in Writing Week so the farm visit was a great way to finish a hard-working week!
WOW!!! Look at what Woodpecker Class have discovered!
Whilst we were taking an Autumn walk through the wood, we stumbled across this amazing egg! It was huge! We made predictions about what it is and what is inside. Miss Frith found out that it came from Farmer Oak's Farm, and his cow Marjorie had laid it! We are going to be doing some writing to help Farmer Oaks about this startling discovery this week!
