At The Oaks Infant School we have an enthusiastic and committed Governing Body. All governors work to ensure the effective management of the school, alongside the Headteacher and the school's Senior Leadership Team. Governors are volunteers who contribute a range of skills from a variety of backgrounds, but all with the same aim of continually improving the school.
Our Governors include representatives from the local community, parents of the school and school staff. Governors have a close relationship with the Headteacher and staff to provide a source of support and challenge. They are often in school, formally and informally, keeping in touch with school life. This will include a variety activities, from helping to set the long term direction for the school, setting the school budget, recruiting staff and monitoring school performance through to attending school concerts, helping out in class, grounds maintenance and lending a hand at school fundraisers.
Our Governors meet regularly throughout the year, as a Local Governing Body and in sub-committees. There are also special Governor Visit Days each term where Governors visit school for a day, spending time with children and staff.
If you are interested in becoming in a Governor at The Oaks, please contact: Mrs Emma Tench, Clerk to the Governors, via the school office or Miss Lyndsey Wood.
