Anne Ryback

Chair of Governors

"I am the Chair of Governors at the Oaks, where I have been a Governor since 2009. I have a particular interest in Special Educational Needs, but I want all the children to get the best out of their education at The Oaks.

I’ve lived  and worked in Sittingbourne for over forty years.  I worked as a scientist at Shell Research, now the Kent Science Park, and later retrained as a secondary school science teacher.  I taught in Medway and Sittingbourne for nearly twenty years before retiring."

Julia Youens

Vice Chair of Governors

"I am a mum of two boys, one who is Year 2 and the other is at Minterne Junior School. My career and passion is sport and getting young people interested and involved with PE and School Sport. I run my own Education company working with teachers, young people and sports coaches to 'learn through sport'. I hope that I can bring a parents perspective to the governing body, as well as a supporting role using my 'educational' background."

Emma Tench

Clerk to the Governors

I am a mum of two; one in secondary education and the other at University.  I have 10 years experience within Education, both in the classroom and with outside agencies.  I am passionate about schools in our local area as I believe they are among the best in the country.

Lyndsey Wood

Staff Governor

"I am the Headteacher at The Oaks Infant School. I have been teaching since 2004 and I enjoy every minute of it. As Headteacher I feel I have a good standing to be a supportive and challenging member of the Governing Body."

Leigh Bacon

Parent Governor

"I am a Mum of two boys who keep me busy and active. One of my sons is in Year 2 and my other son is in the Nursery. I have recently changed careers and I now work as a Teaching Assistant in Year R at another School, which I love. I hope I can represent parents point of view while having some understanding of the education sector."

Alison Blackmore

Co-opted Governor

"Hi, I am Alison Blackmore and I am a co-opted Governor here at the Oaks.
I am also a Teaching Assistant working in Reception.  I love working in Early Years and seeing how our children develop and learn through their play.
I am passionate about giving our children the best learning experience they can have and I hope this helps me to be and effective member of our Governing Body."
